The UNT Mechanical Engineering Department is hosting a number of summer programs for young, passionate scientists, engineers, and inventors! For kids ages 15 and up who are entering the 9th Grade all the way up to the 12th.
Activities include exploring solar and wind energy, learning 3D printing, Aluminum Sandcasting, Injection Molding, building a solar car and more! for more information please check out the agenda and policies below.

General Information and Policies
Camp Fee: $300 per participant covered: Program fee, Lunch, Health Insurance, T-shirt, Supplies, Lanyard, Souvenirs and others.
Time of Camp:Â 9:00am to 4:00pm
Camp Sessions:
Session #1: Start 06/12/2023  End 06/16/2023
Session #2: Start 07/10/2023  End 07/14/2023
Drop off/Pick up:Â Camp will begin 9:00am and end at 4:00pm. Students are allowed to be dropped as early as 8:30am and picked up no later than 5:00pm. Earlier drop-off or late pick-up can be arranged for an additional fee. Please be advised that a camp or university staff member will not be responsible to stay with your child after our office close at 5:00pm. Please try to operate within those parameters to not have your student in the building unsupervised.
Sign-in:Â Each day of the camp, you will be required to sign-in your student. There will be a guide and signs to lead you to the registration room in the Mechanical Engineering department, in suite F101. This is also the room where you will pick up campers at the end of the day.
Absences:Â Due to the way our camps are set up each week, we expect students to attend each day of the session. Please understand that if a student is absent during the week of the session, he/she will not be able to make up that day in another session. The registration is only intended for the chosen session when you sign up.
Registration:Â We will be available at 8:15 am for registration purposes.
Early Release: If you need to take your child out of camp for any reason, please send an email to Dr. Xiaohua Li at xiaohua.li@unt.edu
Dress code:Â The attire is casual. Must wear closed toe shoes.
Lunch:Â Lunch will be provided each day of the camp. If the student has any special dietary requirements, please let us know in advance. We will provide water for lunch and throughout the day. Campers are allowed to bring food or money for food if they have special dietary requirements or want snacks during the day from the area vending machines.
Press Release:Â During the camp we may have various members of the press, including newspaper reporters and photographers and likely various camera crews visiting, please watch for stories. We will also make pictures available online at the end of the summer. *Be sure to submit the Photo Release Form.
